The fourth of July weekend is fast approaching, and there isn't a better excuse to party than to celebrate our independence and the birth of the good ole' U-S- of A! Here is a list of the best places to partake in these celebrations across the country.
Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas is always a great time, but it gets especially packed with party people the weekend of the 4th. Everyone knows that some of the best partying in Las Vegas happens during the daytime, poolside. Most pools will have DJs playing throughout the day, turning the pool into a dance club and cabanas into the VIP section. Rehab, the pool party at The Hard Rock Hotel will draw over 4,000 people to its manmade beaches this holiday weekend. Wet Republic at the MGM Grand Casino is another wild pool party with a bunch of hot, scantily clad ladies looking to party. If you want to skip the sun, eight Las Vegas casinos including Mandalay Bay, Hilton Las Vegas, and Caesar's Palace will host fireworks displays between July 3rd and July 4th. Exactly what Vegas needs, more bright lights.
Boston, MA - The Boston Tea Party set the American Revolutionary War in motion, so it's obviously a great place to show your patriotism. The city of Boston puts on a great show that weekend with the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. This event will draw over half a million people to watch the show. This year it includes performances by Lionel Richie as well as other artists, and of course the Boston Pops. It sounds a little tame, sure. But have you ever partied with 500,000 New Englanders? The bars are packed with rowdy people sporting their red, white, and blue.
Lake of the Ozarks, MO - Maybe the craziest place on our list, Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri has a designated "Party Cove" where you can always find alcohol but will rarely encounter any inhibitions. Located near the Grand Glaize Bridge, drinkers and exhibitionists come together at the Cove for days filled with sun, booze, and even a little x-rated activity. Over 3,000 boats, including promotional boats owned by Bacardi, Captain Morgan, and Anheuser-Busch make their way to the cove every Fourth of July to see what type of debauchery they can find and hopefully get into. Boaters will boast that they see more nudity at Party Cove in 24 hours, then you'll see in a lifetime anywhere else, and let's just say public sex isn't exactly frowned upon. Rock and Roll is blaring, bathing suits are optional, and alcohol is unlimited. What else do you need to have an awesome Independence Day? Well for those that are traditionalists, Lake of the Ozarks also offers six different fireworks displays on the fourth. Something for everyone.
New Orleans, LA - Home of "Go 4th on the River Dueling Fireworks Extravaganza!" This is the only place I've found where two firework shows actually battle each other. Fireworks displays are set up on two large barges in the middle of the Mississippi River and battle back and forth. There is also a lot of free music involved, there are stages set in the French Quarter, Woldenberg Park, and in the Washington Artillery Park leading up to the big event. And New Orleans is always a party, girls flashing for beads doesn't only happen at Mardi Gras. So grab a hurricane and make your way down to the Big Easy.
Newport Beach, CA - The fourth of July weekend is the OC's biggest beach party. Thousands of people make their way to Newport Beach to drink, party, surf, listen to bands, and watch explosions in the sky. Up and down the beach there are different parties sponsored by companies like RockStar and RockBand. The houses on the streets are packed with people bonging beers and yelling at passer byes to join the party. There is definitely a spring break essence in the air. The beach is packed with hot girls in teeny bikinis and surfers in wet suits. The night is capped off by an awesome fireworks show over the ocean. Sounds like a great holiday weekend to us.
